During week 1 lessons, i learnt many things. There were a lot of things to do. Firstly is the primitive breakdown. We learn how to break down 3D things into shapes by sketching them out. I hate sketching because i cannot sketch well at all. What's worse for this exercise is that it had o be sketched in 3D! It took me 2 hours to sketch two robots(the ones i chose). To me it was really not easy. The good thing about this exercise is that it actually trains my sketching and slowly i will be able to sketch well. I learnt about how shapes like triangles, squares, cylinders, etc can be all combine together to form something.
The second thing we learn is the prison and toontown analysis. I learnt how to analyze things the way it is build and why it is build this way. There's a reason to everything, it's not there just for fun. Not being able to say about the colors made is a little harder to explain about the two different pictures. I'm not really a good analyzer but luckily the Autodesk- object structure and form helped me made my way though the exercise. I'm not really a guy filled with ideas so i did not write much about it. Wrote whatever that came in my mind already.
The last but not least we learnt was Primitive Robot. This was really something very very new to me and i believed to everyone too. Learning about a program called MAYA which i've never ever heard before was quite exciting. Creating 3D objects was something special. We had to use the shapes given in the program to create a robot. This was the hardest of all compared to what i hate, sketching. To be able to align all the shapes together, i had to see the front, left and right sides. Seeing from different views shows different placings of the shapes. It's quite cool and enjoyable creating a robot actually. All we need is patience and time. The program makes it look even cooler too like it's some high tech technology.
