Exercise 1 Cardboard box modeling

Create cube

set the width height and depth of cube

set as top panel view

Region-select the vertices in the center of the box depth (length)-wise and Scale the vertices by entering 2.9 in the X axis window

Region-select the vertices in the center of the box width-wise and Scale the vertices by entering 2.92 in the Z axis window.

Change to face and select top box

Go hotbox>edit mesh>extrude and Move the manipulator down a short distance on the Z axis

In the Channel Box, set Local Translate Z to -29.5.

Select the faces in the center of each top section, depth and width-wise

In the Channel Box, set Local Translate Z to .2.

repeat the step but set Local Translate Z to 17 now

Scale the end flaps a short distance away from the side flaps

View as front view

Set the pivot correctly and rotate the flaps out nicely

Select the edges

Bevel the edges

close up view of the beveled edges

select the vertices at the top edge and click the move tool > set to face> click top face where vertices selected and move a short distance

do the same for all flaps

go mesh>smooth > Set division levels to 2 and Continuity to .2

create deformer> non linear> wave. scale deformer to fit width of box
